Death to the Patriarchy was a statement - a live event not only supporting the girls, but emphasizing the damage that the patriarchal framework has done for all humans and the planet Earth itself. On Earth Day, April 22nd 2023, we came together at Brooklyn’s very own Starr Barr to imagine a space where the patriarchy has fallen dead. A funeral to celebrate the end of the gender-binary, the laws that restrict women’s bodies, and the power structures that disproportionately represent our communities and fail to take care of our environment.

For this special event, Majin Moon and tooguud partnered with the New York Women’s Foundation (NYWF) to fundraise for causes of racial, gender, and economic justice. Our team of 3 scouted local New York artists who identified as women to perform music at the event and encourage donations. We organized everything from the artists and the sound, designed graphics and promotional videos, handled ticketing, and coordinated with the venues to make this idea come to life, all while raising funds for the NYWF.
